Ambassador Programme

Activities

Building a global community for serious thinking about intelligence.

The Thinking About Thinking Ambassador Programmes are the primary community pathway into the organisation.

They are designed for students and early-career researchers who want to take part in serious, interdisciplinary conversations about intelligence, and to help build the intellectual infrastructure that supports those conversations in universities and research communities around the world.

Ambassadors play an active role in convening, supporting events, and extending Thinking About Thinking’s work across disciplines and geographies.

What Is the Ambassador Programme?

The Ambassador Programme is a year-long, contribution-based community role.

Ambassadors:

  • Support Thinking About Thinking events and activities

  • Help convene local academic and student communities

  • Promote seminars, workshops, and conferences

  • Act as points of connection between disciplines and institutions

The programme is open, inclusive, and designed to scale globally, while maintaining intellectual seriousness and shared standards.

Who the Programme is for

The Ambassador Programme is intended for:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students

  • PhD students and early-career researchers

  • Developers

  • Individuals working across AI, neuroscience, computer science, mathematics, psychology, and related fields

  • AI community builders

  • People who value careful thinking, dialogue, and intellectual humility

No single disciplinary background is required. What matters is curiosity, reliability, and a genuine interest in interdisciplinary inquiry.

What Ambassadors Do?

Ambassadors typically contribute in the following ways:

  • Supporting the promotion and delivery of events

  • Sharing seminars, calls for papers, and workshops within their institutions

  • Co-ordinating local informal meetups and hackathons

  • Helping to organise local reading groups or viewing sessions

  • Acting as liaisons between Thinking About Thinking and universities or societies

  • Participating actively in the community’s discussions and activities

The level of involvement is flexible, but contributions are tracked and recognised.

What Ambassadors Receive?

Ambassadors receive:

  • Early or discounted access to events and conferences (Free in some cases)

  • Invitations to selected online seminars and community sessions

  • Recognition as part of the Thinking About Thinking community

  • Opportunities to connect with peers across disciplines and countries

  • A clear pathway toward deeper involvement in the organisation

For many participants, the programme provides their first opportunity to engage seriously with interdisciplinary research communities beyond their home department.
