For four days at the British Ambassador’s residence we are gathering mathematicians, neuroscientists, cognitive scientists and AI researchers under one roof to discuss the computational foundations of intelligence.

The Venue

Villa Wolkonsky

The British Ambassador’s residence in Rome, a 19th-century villa with beautiful gardens, located in the San Giovanni neighbourhood.

Available. Password on signage at registration.
Tap water
Safe to drink. Rome has excellent tap water.
Cloakroom
Available for bags, jackets and as a quiet space for calls. Unmanned.
Charging
Power strips have UK plugs. A few adaptors on-site; bring your own to be safe.
Arrival
Please arrive 20 to 30 minutes before each session starts. Strict security checks on entry; allow extra time after the lunch break too, when the same check runs again.
Security
Have your passport or photo ID, your name on the guest list and your event ticket ready at the gate. No large bags permitted on the premises.
Parking
No parking available at the venue.
Photo opt-out
Collect a coloured sticker at registration if you prefer not to appear in photos/video.
Getting There
Fiumicino
Leonardo Express non-stop to Termini (32 min, every 15 min, €14), then Metro A.
Ciampino
Ciampino Airlink (bus + train, ~40 min to Termini), then Metro A.
Best route
Metro A (orange line) towards Anagnina; alight at Manzoni or San Giovanni, ~10 min walk.
From Termini
~32 min walk · ~12 min drive · Metro A is easiest.
Pickpockets
Be alert at Termini and on Metro A. Keep bags zipped and phones in front pockets.
