The conferences, seminars and salons of Thinking About Thinking are the principal instruments by which the institution does its work. Some are public; some are by application; some are by invitation. Each is, in our experience, the better for being convened in person.

Our peer-reviewed scientific conference. Submission-led, selective, oriented toward open problems and rigorous exchange across neuroscience, machine learning, applied mathematics and the foundations of intelligence.

The standing society of fellows and ambassadors, distributed across more than seventy cities. Members gather in person at seminars, conferences and salons; the institution is held together, between gatherings, by correspondence.
Read more →Beyond the flagship conferences and the standing programmes, the institution convenes smaller local gatherings across the year: evening salons, partner panels and venture cafés held jointly with universities, research groups and adjacent organisations. They are, by design, narrower in scope and more direct in form.
